Regulatory Expectations for 2025

The event takes place in a year of high expectations for the sector. By September 30th, the federal government, as ordered by the STJ, must present regulations for cannabis cultivation for medicinal purposes and industrial hemp in Brazil. The measure could pave the way for national production, reduce costs, and expand access to patients.

Another front is the revision of RDC 327/2019, an Anvisa standard that regulates cannabis-based products in the country. The public consultation received over 1,500 contributions and discusses points such as new administration routes (sublingual, topical, and possibly inhalation), adjustments to THC limits, deadlines for clinical studies, labeling, and rules for importing inputs.

These changes can redefine the Brazilian market, which has already generated R$ 237.9 million in product sales at pharmacies by March 2025 and has over 52,000 doctors prescribing plant derivatives.

Strategic Forum

With this scenario, Cannabis Connection 2025 is expected to serve as a strategic forum for those closely following the future of cannabis in Brazil. The discussions should reflect the direction of regulations and provide a practical insight into how companies, healthcare professionals, and patients will be impacted by the new rules.
