On November 11th, in Florianópolis, OAB Santa Catarina will promote the 1st Integrated Talk, a meeting that aims to shed light on urgent topics: the medicinal use of cannabis, the right to health, and fundamental rights.
Organized by the Medical and Health Law Commission, in partnership with the Disability Law and Criminal Law commissions, the event seeks to bring science closer to the law and invite society to reflect on the role of advocacy in building a fairer, more humane, and accessible healthcare system.
According to the OAB/SC website, the talk's objective is to promote “a technical and ethical debate on the medicinal use of cannabis, addressing its legal, social impacts and the realization of the right to health”.
Open dialogue for a more humane future
The meeting will feature the presence of doctors, jurists, and researchers who will discuss the advancement of public policies, the need for updating legislation, and the importance of empathy in the application of the right to health.
The president of the Medical and Health Law Commission, Dr. Clarissa Ferreira Sampaio, highlighted on the OAB/SC website that the event is a space for collective construction: “we want to build bridges between law and medicine, bringing care, dignity, and access to therapies that are already transforming lives to the agenda. The Integrated Talk is an invitation to dialogue and active listening”.
Registrations and more information are available on the OAB/SC website.
