When basketball star Carmelo Anthony had his name immortalized in the Hall of Fame, he didn't just celebrate a career, he ignited a new chapter in his journey: the launch of the cannabis line Hall of Flame, in partnership with the indigenous cultivator Skyworld. This union goes beyond using celebrity to boost sales, it aims to create a model of authentic collaboration, based on discipline, data, and purpose.
The project goes beyond just a brand: it proposes a new way of thinking and building community around cannabis. The Hall of Flame line, which includes selected flowers, carries symbolic value by strengthening indigenous representation in the sector and turning what was once just marketing talk into concrete action.
Root, process, and long-term vision
The choice of Skyworld was not random. Before finalizing the deal, executives like Jesce Horton visited the still-under-construction cultivator facilities, what impressed them were the repeatable operational procedures, the rigorous data collection, and the expertise in lithotherapy (the study of varieties).
For Alex Anderson, co-founder of Skyworld and member of the Tuscarora Nation, shared values were the central point of the partnership. More than seeking visibility, the intention was to find someone who shared the same care, discipline, and respect for the process that define the cultivator's work.
Anthony is not just a face: he is involved in choosing the strains (twelve options were evaluated before settling on the “Number 7”, cultivated to provide a clear, active, and uplifting effect), he smokes his own products, and guides future versions based on the feedback he gives. It is this active presence that sets Hall of Flame apart from so many celebrity ventures that fade over time.
Beyond the immediate market, the focus is on organic expansion: starting in New York and moving to new territories “when the timing is natural”. The expectation surrounding the launch is that this type of model, collaborative, culturally conscious, and with technical DNA, can inspire new initiatives in the cannabis space.
