Confident in the potential of cannabis, during the Agro and Tech Cannabis module symposium, the Business Strategic Manager at Close Up - International, Natália Soares, stated that cannabis-based products can compete in the Brazilian pharmaceutical market. During the lecture, the pharmacist showed, through data, numerous possibilities in the sector.

According to Natália, the accumulated market growth in millions of reais reaches over 126% in the last four years, among pharmacy, institutional, and others - reaching R$ 228 million in May 2024. “Few markets within the pharmacy show such impressive growth as cannabis derivatives,” she says.

The strategy manager also pointed out that 23% of active doctors in 2023 and 2024 increased their average prescription of cannabinoids per person by 4 times, indicating a higher number of patients. Along with this growth, 77% of current cannabis prescribers are new to the category, highlighting growth in various chains of the cannabis sector.
