The international cannabis lifestyle brand, Cookies, has introduced That Badu, the first product line from the new partnership with Apple Trees, a company created by Erykah Badu.
That Badu is a cannabis product line developed with women's well-being in mind and will be available on March 8 (International Women's Day). It will be followed by a second wave of items that will be on sale on May 14, close to Mother's Day in the U.S.
"This collaboration with Erykah felt appropriate and necessary for many reasons. I was raised by my mother, who was a powerful woman, and I was mentored by a powerful woman in the cannabis industry, so I think it's very important that there are more women in the industry," said Berner, co-founder and CEO of Cookies.

Women in the Industry
“What Erykah represents is extremely unique and I believe it will drastically elevate women in the industry. Additionally, it is a pleasure to work with her; we dedicated our time to this project and I am very impressed with her involvement in everything.”
The initial launch of the product line, on March 8, will feature Badu's first cannabis strain, a cross between Lemonchello and Jet Fuel Gelato, offered in eighths (3.5 grams) and pre-packaged.
The That Badu strain, which shares the name of the line, will be available for adult and medicinal use customers at Cookies and Lemonnade stores in California. Other products are scheduled to arrive at the Cookies CBD and Badu World Market websites on May 14, including Badu x Cookies SF apparel, topical creams, edibles, and a non-psychoactive mushroom tea.
According to Badu, the strain has a scent of crystallized citrus fruits and champagne, tastes like "melon and drops of lemon," and gives women a "light euphoria." For the pre-rolls, a rose-scented paper was developed in collaboration with Vibes to symbolize appreciation and admiration for all women.
"Instead of buying a dozen roses for mom on Mother's Day, give her a fragrant bouquet of pre-rolls wrapped in roses," suggested Badu.
The Vision
Badu's vision was realized at every stage of the process. Erykah was involved in the entire range of products, from research to testing and packaging design. The range includes a common porcelain tray and a vase-shaped bong, called Woman Vessel by Badu, designed and created by ceramicist Roberto Lugo.
The blue and white print, where the cannabis leaf is at the center of the botanical design, evokes ancient Qinghua Chinese ceramics and reflects Badu's appreciation for this pottery, associated with harmony and balance.
After the debut, Berner and Badu hope to have the entire That Badu collection in all Cookies locations worldwide.
