The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) has prohibited the manufacturing, distribution, marketing, advertising, and use of batches of products manufactured by Mush Mush Club Ltda. The decision was published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Tuesday (07/01).

Among the prohibited items are: Mushdrops - Turkey Tail Mushroom; Mushdrops - Chaga Mushroom; Mushdrops - Lion's Mane Mushroom; Mushdrops - Reishi Mushroom; and Mushdrops - Cordyceps Mushroom.

The company claims to sell more than 18,000 units of "Mushdrops" per month - a term used to refer to the products.

According to Anvisa, the products were being marketed as medicines, but "do not have sanitary regulation, being manufactured by a company without an Authorization for Operation (AFE) for the manufacture of medicines."

The agency also informed, in a statement, that it is not possible to guarantee the safety of use of these products, nor to know their origin or the quality controls adopted during the manufacturing process.

Company's Note

According to Mush Mush, the products "have never been marketed as a medicine," always advertising them as a product of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), respecting all limits and definitions established by Brazilian legislation and strictly following all current regulations of Anvisa, especially RDC No. 901/2024.
