Price of cannabis at pharmacies rises in all varieties in Uruguay

Up to 2.1%

The price of adult-use cannabis sold in pharmacies in Uruguay has increased in all varieties since October 2024, according to data from the Institute for the Regulation and Control of Cannabis (IRCCA). The adjustment, effective as of August 2025, impacts the four options available to the public.

Alpha — up to 9% THC and up to 3% CBD: increased from US$ 470 to US$ 480 (+2.1%).

Beta — same composition as Alpha: rose from US$ 490 to US$ 500 (+2%).

Gama — up to 15% THC and up to 1% CBD: from US$ 550 to US$ 560 (+1.8%).

Epsilon — launched in 2024, with up to 20% THC and up to 1% CBD: from US$ 600 to US$ 610 (+1.6%).

Control and regulation

All varieties are sold in 5-gram packages, with official control of cannabinoid content and government-guaranteed origin. Since the legalization of cannabis in 2013, Uruguay remains the only country in Latin America to offer THC flowers in a regulated manner in pharmacies.
