"Pink October" was the month dedicated to actions to reinforce the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of breast and cervical cancer. The main goal of the campaign was to raise awareness in society about these diseases, as well as to expand access to diagnostic services, an essential measure to reduce the incidence of deaths. Therefore, even after the official end of the awareness month, last Tuesday, October 31, it is important to remember that early treatment increases the chances of cure and cannabis can be a great ally in this journey to provide a better quality of life for the patient.
Research already proves the medicinal use of cannabis to reduce symptoms such as pain, inflammation, anxiety control, fatigue, insomnia, nausea, and vomiting, as a result of breast cancer and its treatment. Cannabinoids can play an important role in reducing the side effects of chemotherapy, providing an improvement in the quality of life of patients affected by this condition.
"Cannabis can shape the body as a whole, so it modulates the physiology of our body in such a way that there is indeed hope for this incredible treatment and who knows, a cure for these women," says Emanuele Miranda, a physician who works as an Integrative Therapist with Medicinal Cannabis.

Breast cancer affects women worldwide, and according to data from the National Cancer Institute (INCA), Brazil recorded about 66,280 new cases in 2022 alone. It is not surprising that adopting a balanced diet and promoting healthy lifestyle habits play a crucial role in promoting well-being and preventing various diseases, including breast cancer.
"Pink October has come to an end, but we must never forget to maintain prevention and early treatment against this terrible disease. With a view to a more humane and integrative treatment, we have cannabis, phytocannabinoids, which not only improve symptoms like pain but also provide a better quality of life at a psychological level, thus reducing stress, anxiety, and mainly, lack of hope," reinforces Emanuele.

Maintaining a balanced, nutrient-rich diet is essential for prevention and can contribute to reducing the risk factors associated with the disease, both in a preventive context and during and after treatment. Statistics reveal that a significant portion, between 80% and 90%, of cancer cases are related to external factors, including environmental changes caused by human activities, as well as habits and lifestyles that can increase the risk of various types of cancer.
