1st Meeting of Cannabinoid Medicine brings debate to Rio Grande do Sul

Unity, dialogue, and learning. These were the words used by the representative of Revivid Brasil, Liane Pereira, to define the 1st Meeting of Cannabinoid Medicine in Rio Grande do Sul. An event that took place last Monday, the 24th, in Porto Alegre and featured speakers of great relevance in the Brazilian cannabis scenario.

According to the President of the Medicinal Cannabis Association, ACURACAN, Patrícia Rosa, one of the 75 people present at the event, the meeting was a complete success.

"The event was long, but very interesting. I, as a spectator, didn't even notice the time passing. I could have spent several hours listening, dialoguing, and learning from the professionals present," says Patrícia.

In addition to local politicians, Leonel Radde, state deputy (PT) and Jonas Dalagna, councilor of Canoas (NOVO), doctors, a lawyer, a psychiatrist, and cannabis patients, were part of the speakers at the meeting. In his speech, Leonel emphasized the importance of unlinking the cannabis issue from ideological, partisan, and moral bias, aiming to advance in the discussion of public policies capable of assisting the population.

When talking about the importance of continuing to demystify the topic in Rio Grande do Sul, Leonel highlighted the delay experienced in the state. "We have to hold more and more meetings, bring the debate to the Gaúcho society. We are going against the other states of Brazil, going against research and science, Rio Grande do Sul is still very conservative".

In line with the Deputy's speech, Liane highlights the company's desire to hold more events in the southern region of the country. According to her, Caxias do Sul, Taquari, Santa Maria, and Criciúma are cities interested in hosting the company's next meeting.
