1st Meeting of Cannabinoid Medicine in Rio Grande do Sul Aims to Assist New Cannabis-Prescribing Doctors
The event organized by Revivid Brasil is free to attend and will feature lectures from prominent figures in the Brazilian cannabis scene

On Monday, July 24th, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, will host the 1st Meeting of Cannabinoid Medicine. An initiative by the company, Revivid Brasil. The event will take place at the Swan Porto Alegre auditorium starting at 2:00 PM. Admission is free, and registrations can be made by calling (51) 98444 - 5064.

According to the representative of Revivid and organizer of the event, Liane Pereira, in addition to fostering a dialogue on the importance of marijuana for medicinal purposes, the meeting will issue a call to doctors in Rio Grande do Sul.

“There is a lack of doctors willing to address the issue of cannabis in the southern region of the country. We want to encourage new prescribers, urge the medical community to help patients in need of the plant,” she says.

As guest speakers: Wilson Lessa, general and forensic psychiatrist, and Jimmy Fardim, orthopedic surgeon - two prominent figures in Brazilian cannabinoid medicine. In addition, the lawyer and manager of Revivid, Daiane Zappe, and the mothers and patients of cannabis, Sabrina Kaster and Liane Pereira, will also be participating as speakers.

For Revivid's manager, Daiane, events like these are essential to inform and break paradigms about the plant.

“After all, what is allowed in Brazil? Some doctors are hesitant to prescribe cannabis because the Brazilian Federal Council of Medicine (CFM) is not clear on the subject. That's why we want to hold more meetings to demystify the plant, address concerns, and show patients that they can trust the treatments,” she emphasizes.

Furthermore, the lawyer ensures that Revivid will continue to hold events in Rio Grande do Sul and other states in Brazil. The group has already confirmed participation in events such as the 2nd International Medicinal Cannabis Conference (CICMED), a lecture at UNIFESO College, Expo Cannabis Brasil, and others.
