Anvisa Collegiate Board has new composition defined after director's departure

Due to the end of the term of director Rômison Rodrigues Mota, which occurred on December 19, 2025, the Anvisa Collegiate Board (Dicol) underwent changes. The group met extraordinarily to define the new organization of the board.

Rômison served as the director rapporteur of RDC 327, the regulation responsible for cannabis products in Brazilian pharmacies. To fill the vacancy left in the Anvisa Collegiate Board, the employee Marcelo Mario Matos Moreira was appointed as substitute director.

New member of the Anvisa Collegiate Board

Marcelo Mario Matos Moreira has been a Agency employee since 2005, having worked in various organizational units. His most recent experience was leading the General Management of Biological Products, Radiopharmaceuticals, Blood, Tissues, Cells, Organs, and Advanced Therapies Products (GGBIO).

The new member of the Anvisa Collegiate Board holds a degree in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Additionally, he is a specialist in Epidemiology from the Catholic University of Brasília and in Sanitary Surveillance from Fiocruz, also holding a Professional Master's degree in Clinical Pharmacology from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC).

During the extraordinary meeting, the directors responsible for supervising the different boards were also defined. The new distribution of responsibilities in the Anvisa Collegiate Board was established as follows:

- President-Director: Leandro Pinheiro Safatle;

- Second Board: Director Daniel Meirelles Fernandes Pereira;

- Third Board: Director Daniela Marreco Cerqueira;

- Fourth Board: Substitute Director Marcelo Mario Matos Moreira;

- Fifth Board: Director Thiago Lopes Cardoso Campos.
