Argentinian and Israeli Governments Exchange Knowledge on Medicinal Cannabis
The idea is to generate development projects and legal aspects exchange on the topic
The Embassy of Argentina in Israel has been strengthening relations with the Medicinal Cannabis Agency, linked to the Ministry of Health of the Middle Eastern country, as well as experts from the Volcani Institute, which deals with agricultural development and technology. The idea is to generate actions aimed at transferring knowledge from Israel - a world leader in research - and projects for development and exchange of legal aspects on the subject.
Argentinian Ambassador in Israel, Sergio Urribarri, revealed last week that he has been holding a series of working meetings with authorities from provinces such as Jujuy and Entre Ríos and with national legislators, in order to promote the development of the medicinal cannabis industry in Argentina.
Israel is one of the most advanced countries in the world in medicinal Cannabis studies
According to Urribarri, Israel is one of the most advanced countries in the world in terms of research, legislation, training, and development of the medicinal cannabis industry. "We want to facilitate the transfer of all this knowledge to our country," he said. "Israel is very interested and is looking at the research and development growing in Argentina in this matter."
These institutions seek to boost different work initiatives, including the possibility of establishing an exchange with Argentine legislators and authorities on the advances in institutional and regulatory development that have occurred in Israel regarding the cannabis industry.
Cannabis has potential in health and in productive and industrial development
The president of Cannabis Avatara, a state society that promotes the research and development of crops in Jujuy, Gastón Morales, described the experience carried out in the province to outline a state policy focused on satisfying the public health need to provide Cannabis-derived medicines to people suffering from different diseases. At the same time, he mentioned the importance of unfolding the productive and development potential represented by the cultivation and processing of the plant. "We consider it very valuable to be able to firsthand know the experience of Israel, which has led it to be one of the most prominent on the subject," he emphasized.
