The medical cannabis market is rapidly growing in Brazil, and doctors from different regions take advantage of specialized events to stay updated, discover new products, and expand their network of contacts.

According to CloseUp, there are approximately 50,000 doctors who have prescribed medical cannabis at least once in the country. Most of these professionals work in major cities such as São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. This shows that there is still ample space for new prescribing professionals seeking to provide the best care to patients.

Medical Cannabis Fair: First Impressions and Discoveries

For Dr. Paula Escobar, who practices in Criciúma (SC) with an office focused exclusively on cannabinoid medicine, the first participation in the fair was remarkable: “I'm finding it a very nice experience. I'm getting to know several brands, making contacts, and exchanging experiences with other doctors. It's been very rewarding”.

Dr. Natália Moreira also decided to participate last minute, even though it was the fourth edition of the congress: “It's an incredible environment for exchanging ideas with more experienced professionals and supplier companies. A unique opportunity to expand knowledge and create connections”.

New Products and More Knowledge for Prescribing

In addition to networking, the event offers doctors the chance to get up close with technologies, supplies, and products that can transform clinical routines. One of the participants highlighted professional updating as a high point: “I will bring a lot of knowledge to my patients. I discovered products that I didn't even imagine were already available in Brazil. For those starting to prescribe, this range of options is essential”.

The Importance of Medical Updates

Dr. Alexandre, who has been prescribing medical cannabis for two years, emphasizes that the market is rapidly evolving. “Doctors who do not update themselves on this new therapy will be left behind. We increasingly have colleagues asking for information because patients arrive with prescriptions and doubts. It is essential to master, at least, the basics of each cannabinoid,” he pointed out.
