Cannabis and Charity Project Offers Consultation for Low-Income Individuals in São Paulo

The second edition of the Cannabis and Charity project is scheduled for July 29, from 9 AM to 2 PM, in São Paulo. The event will offer free consultations with health professionals qualified in prescribing medical cannabis for low-income individuals. To participate, it is necessary to secure a prior appointment via WhatsApp at (22) 3031-6661 or (22) 97401-0983, and the consultation will be conducted by a professional identified as Ana Paula. On the day of the consultation, the patient must present documents proving their low-income status.

The Cannabis and Charity event will take place at Av. Senador Casemiro da Rocha, 182 - Mirandópolis, near the Praça da Árvore subway station, line 1 – Blue.

Doctors from various specialties such as pediatrics, dermatology, neurology, and child psychiatry are participating in the project, which also includes dentists and a nutritionist. Free consultations can be conducted either in person or online. Patients will also receive assistance for starting treatment and guidance on the judicial process for using medical cannabis.

A medical prescription indicating treatment with cannabis is the first step to starting treatment. Currently, less than 1% of the medical community, represented by the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM), prescribes treatments with cannabis, according to a survey conducted by Anvisa. Most cannabis-prescribing doctors see private patients, which is why a large portion of the low-income population has difficulty accessing cannabinoid medicine.

The goal of the project is to ensure that more people have access to cannabinoid treatment that can assist in the management of various pathologies. In the first event held in Rio de Janeiro, over 40 families were served, and this second edition aims to assist more than 60 families.

The Cannabis and Charity project requests the donation of 1 kilogram of non-perishable food. The food donated by attendees at the event will be directed to other charitable actions.
