Cannabis Medicine Symposium: Advances, Benefits, and Challenges of Medical Cannabis Under Discussion

On September 1st, Goiânia (GO) will host an event for professionals and researchers in the legal and health fields. The Goiânia Cannabis Medicine Symposium will highlight the advances, benefits, and challenges of medical cannabis, as well as explore in detail its regulatory framework in the Brazilian context. The event will take place at the auditorium of the Brazilian Bar Association – Goiás Section, located in the Marista Sector.

The symposium promises a rich journey of knowledge and meaningful discussions about the plant. The program will run from 8 AM to 5 PM and will feature participation from various entities in the sector, as well as renowned authorities in this field. Participation in the event is free, but prior registration is required through the link provided on the official event website. 

Aimed at a wide range of professionals, from doctors, dentists, and pharmacists to lawyers, legislators, regulatory agency representatives, researchers, students, and general interested parties, the symposium seeks to deepen understanding and stimulate debate around the topic. 

The four panels that make up the event's agenda will address various relevant aspects: 

Panel I – Legal Framework of Medical Cannabis in Brazil: A detailed exploration of the legal bases that govern the therapeutic use of Cannabis in the country. 

Panel II – Perspectives of Regulatory Entities on Medical Cannabis: Analysis of the views of regulatory institutions regarding the medical uses of Cannabis and the possibilities for regulation. 

Panel III – Research, Development, and Innovation in Medical Cannabis Production: An investigation into the latest innovations in research and the development of medicinal products derived from Cannabis. 

Panel IV – Use of Medical Cannabis in the Treatment of Specific Diseases and Clinical Cases: Discussion on the practical applications of Medical Cannabis in the treatment of specific diseases, through the presentation of clinical cases and scientific evidence. 

The event is promoted by Iquego, in partnership with OAB/GO, Golden BRZ, USA Hemp Brasil, ÁGAPE, Hub Curta Mais, Fundação REDWOOD, CDPI Pharma, and EPHAR, with the support of the Federal Pharmacy Council – CFF; Regional Pharmacy Council – CRF/GO; Regional Dentistry Council – CRO/GO; Regional Psychology Council – CRP/GO; Regional Physiotherapy Council – CREFITO/GO.
