US Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack, gave a speech at Lincoln University in early February, announcing that the US Government will invest $1 billion (approximately 5.10 billion Brazilian Reais at the current exchange rate) in agriculture projects linked to commodities that contribute to solving the global climate crisis.
An unprecedented demonstration by the country's Government to draw attention to projects aimed at capturing and immobilizing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Today, there are several possibilities for agribusiness to generate this type of benefit and earn an excellent value from this type of operation, generating income for farmers who are responsible for removing carbon from the atmosphere every year and rarely profit from this work.
