Center of Excellence in Cannabinoids launches institute for promotion of scientific research and medical training

The Center of Excellence in Cannabinoids (CEC) is specialized in health, focusing on humanized care, pioneering spirit, and excellence in cannabinoid medicine. The venture is divided into two fronts. CEC Medical focuses on the clinical application of efficient and safe treatments for those seeking a better quality of life. The CEC Institute aims to promote scientific research and the development of medical and technical education regarding advances and forms of therapies, treatments, and applications of medicinal cannabis.
This year, the center announced the launch of the CEC Education and Research Institute. The initiative aims to foster the development of medical and technical education, covering current best practices and future advances in forms of therapies, treatments, and applications of medicinal cannabis. Additionally, it aims to promote and stimulate scientific research on the possibilities of using the plant for various medical conditions.
For this purpose, the Institute has content curation and a network of researchers, physicians, industry professionals, and patients dedicated to increasing the clinical understanding of cannabis, focusing on its therapeutic potential.
We want to be a transformative agent in the development of activities related to medicinal cannabis in Brazil, including training of physicians and promotion of scientific projects. We will also act as an awareness agent for society about the benefits of cannabinoid medicine through research that substantiates the therapeutic results of cannabis.

Medical training
In the education sector, the CEC Institute offers a variety of educational actions, including unique courses and learning programs. “Our curriculum is developed by world-renowned experts, providing an in-depth view of the science and medicine behind cannabis, with a diverse faculty of physicians and healthcare professionals,” highlights Soldon.
The proposal for medical training involves the establishment of specific study schools in pathologies and specialties, with the leading names in medicine dedicated to the endocannabinoid system. The first two schools to be inaugurated will be Sports Medicine and Neurology schools focused on the medicinal use of cannabis.

Classes will be conducted by Ricardo Tardini, an orthopedist and traumatologist with specialization in medicinal cannabis, and by Marcelo Valio, a medical nutritionist. Information about the Neurology school will be available for consultation in July. “In addition to these first two schools, our strategic plan foresees the launch of the Mental Health and Oncology school in 2022,” Soldon emphasizes.
Partnerships with consultants and researchers
The CEC Institute, both in the education sector and in research development, has strategic institutional partnerships for the advancement of medicinal cannabis in Brazil. For the medical training journey, the CEC Institute has signed alliances with national and international universities for the creation of educational content and technologies.
According to Soldon, the inauguration of the Institute highlights CEC's commitment to contributing to the promotion of health and well-being in society.
“Understanding and researching new methods for treating diseases is an urgent need. We are proud to be part of this movement with the first private Institute in Latin America dedicated to offering education and research exclusively for the medicinal use of cannabis, marking a revolution in progress,” Soldon concludes.
