CFMV opens unprecedented certification in Veterinary Endocannabinology, with applications open until 2027
The certification is organized by AMEC-VET and recognized by the Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine (CFMV)
Brazilian veterinary medicine has just recorded another milestone in consolidating Veterinary Endocannabinology.
Veterinarians interested in obtaining official recognition of the specialty can now register for the Certification Exam for the Specialist Title in Veterinary Endocannabinology (TEEV), organized by the Medicinal Association of Veterinary Endocannabinology (AMEC-VET) and recognized by the Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine (CFMV).
According to the CFMV website, applications remain open from July 13, 2026, to January 13, 2027.
The initiative represents another step toward structuring the field in the country, establishing technical criteria for professional certification and recognizing the background of veterinarians dedicated to studying the endocannabinoid system and its applications in animal health.
CFMV-recognized certification strengthens Veterinary Endocannabinology
According to the website of the Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine (CFMV), AMEC-VET was officially authorized to grant the title following the publication of CFMV Resolution No. 1,705/2026, approved during the agency's 407th Ordinary Plenary Session. The organization joins the group of institutions authorized to certify specialists, following the rules established in CFMV Resolution No. 1,572/2023.
The official notice contains all information regarding requirements, schedule, evaluation stages, and conditions for obtaining the title.
Veterinary Endocannabinology brings together scientific knowledge focused on the study of the endocannabinoid system, including clinical applications related to diagnosis, therapeutic management, and technical-scientific updates for professionals working in animal health.

Interested parties must register directly on the AMEC-VET portal, where the full notice for the selection process is also available. The exam is intended for veterinarians who meet the criteria established by the organization to obtain certification.
The exam grants the successful candidate the Specialist Title in Veterinary Endocannabinology, subsequently approved by the Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine, valid throughout the national territory in accordance with current regulations.
The expansion of Veterinary Endocannabinology follows the growth of research related to the endocannabinoid system in animal health, a topic that has been gaining ground among professionals and institutions dedicated to the scientific development of veterinary medicine.
