How did Alzheimer’s change Miriam Morata's life? The architect chose to set aside her profession to dedicate herself to caring for her parents. The work as a caregiver, which is essential to provide support to the patient, taught her that the challenges of caring for her father and mother diagnosed with Alzheimer’s are also the pains of thousands of other unknown caregivers who, in anonymity, contribute to improving the quality of life of their family members or friends.

Alzheimer and Attention to Caregivers

Miriam, who previously mastered designed projects, found herself in completely new territory when circumstances led her to the role of caregiver. The lack of experience in the healthcare field did not prevent her from diving headfirst into this mission. A significant family event triggered a radical change in her perspective on life.

If you are a healthcare professional willing to support the Cuida de Mim Network with your knowledge and experience, please contact the project's creators.

Driven by the need to document the effects of a disease that affected her family, Miriam started a diary. Her narrative, shared online, touched hearts and soon transformed into an inspiring book. The desire to create a broader impact led her to create the "Cuida de Mim Network", a virtual space for sharing information, support, and inspiration.

Miriam's story is living proof that even the most unexpected changes can experience a positive transformation. Through the "Cuida de Mim" project, she has cast a careful eye on the challenges faced by family caregivers, addressing legal issues, support programs, and public policies.

Initially, Miriam believed she was alone in her caregiving journey, but the network revealed a community of individuals facing similar situations. Now, she not only offers support to caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients but has also experienced a platform that seeks to create changes in family care policies.

In São Paulo, on September 30th, at the Bibliaspa building, near the Marechal Deodoro Metro Station, the fourth event of the "Cuida de Mim Network" will take place from 9 AM to 4 PM. This event symbolizes a union of individuals who, like Miriam, have transformed challenges into opportunities for empowerment. To assist caregivers, lectures with healthcare professionals will be held. Contact the network at  (11) 97674-9855.
