Espírito Santo has the first association of Medicinal Cannabis
The initial activity will be this Thursday (19): a debate on the theme 'Cannabis, health, and the experience with prescription in Espírito Santo'
The first association of medicinal cannabis in the state of Espírito Santo has been created. The Capixaba Medicinal Cannabis Association (ACAMC) aims to promote the therapeutic use of cannabis, offer courses, provide information and support, advance research in the field, and provide medical and legal guidance. Registrations for new members will open soon.
The first informative lecture by ACAMC, which will kick off its activities, will be this Thursday (19), at 8:00 PM, and will be broadcasted on the association's YouTube channel. The debate theme will be 'Cannabis, health, and the experience with prescription in Espírito Santo,' and will feature the clinical doctor Fábio Rocha, the neuropediatrician Rafaella Coppo, the patient Tales da Silva Loss, and the nurse Mirian Coelho, along with her son, Guilherme Coelho, who is undergoing cannabis treatment.

In a statement, ACAMC believes in the right that each person should have regarding the health treatment that best suits them, with prohibitionist policies being a major obstacle in the issue of cannabis for therapeutic purposes.
The debate will be held again on the 24th, with the theme 'Social and political aspects of Cannabis in the current Brazilian context: criminalization vs. legalization,' featuring university professor and researcher Pablo Ornelas and social scientist and parliamentary advisor Monique Prado.
On December 2nd, the theme of the third lecture will be 'The legal current affairs on cannabis and the issue of habeas corpus for self-cultivation and health treatment.' On ACAMC's Instagram page, you can follow the themes and dates of the upcoming meetings.
