Ubiracir Lima, professor and counselor of the Federal Council of Chemistry, during the 17th episode of Deusa Cast, pointed out CFQ as a tool capable of assisting in the development of the cannabis ecosystem. A defender of the cannabis cause, on behalf of the Council, Ubiracir has been encouraging the advancement of research on the chemical components of cannabis for medicinal purposes.

"CFQ does not have the authority to act in the social and political aspects of cannabis, but we are a tool that can assist in the production of medicines and industrial products for construction, cosmetics, dietary supplements, and others."

"Let's understand what chemically exists in the substance and its correlations to generate properties," the professor adds, explaining how the Council can operate in the medicinal cannabis ecosystem.

Fostering the agenda

According to Ubiracir, whenever he brings up the topic of "cannabis" in his presentations to the Council, members show some emotion. "This agenda 'provokes'," he comments.

For the professor, the most impacted are people who have, within their circle of acquaintances, a patient who uses or could be using cannabis as a treatment, helping in their quality of life. Another group that the agenda 'provokes' are those who still have some resistance when it comes to cannabis, "perhaps because they do not fully understand or know what the plant is and how it can help," Ubiracir explains.
