The lawyer Carla Coutinho, a specialist in cannabis law and columnist for the Sechat Portal, opened up in episode #47 of Deusa Cast, revealing how work overload and burnout were the starting point for a life change.
"I felt very overwhelmed, to the point of not recognizing myself anymore. I would come home and have another journey as a woman, as a mother... and I thought: I could put all this energy into something I really like, but I needed to find out what that was," she said.
It was in this moment of exhaustion and search for meaning that Carla found herself again. "I discovered that I needed to live with myself and be happy. I can't be someone else to live my life. That's when I decided to focus on cannabis law, and it was the best decision I ever made".
Cannabis as a Healing and Awareness Tool
Carla explains that her contact with cannabis was, above all, an internal dive. "The plant showed me that we need to look inside. It helped me see my shadows, talk to them, and understand self-discovery as part of the healing process".
In the episode, the lawyer also emphasizes the importance of the right to health as the basis for access to medical cannabis in Brazil. "The right to health is constitutional, it belongs to your body, your life, and your freedom of choice. Fighting for medical cannabis is fighting for a fundamental human right," she states.
Amid personal reflections and legal foundations, Carla brings a powerful message: the path of cannabis is also the path of balance, between body, mind, and purpose.
