Delta 11 THC is a cannabinoid found naturally in the hemp plant, but in low quantities. However, a new technology has allowed companies to isolate this compound and explore its effects and potential benefits.

Like Delta 8, 9, and 10, Delta 11 THC is also psychoactive, however, it has shown promise in its potency, being three times stronger than traditional Delta 9. For this reason, administration should be done cautiously and responsibly.

Where to find Delta 11?

Products based on the new compound are already being produced by companies in the US. Binoid, for example, offers vapes with the substance. There are also no specific laws for Delta 11, and even though it is legalized by the federal government, some US states may prohibit it.

In Brazil, according to the lawyer, legal coordinator of patient associations AMME/PE and Santa Cannabis/SC, Ladislau Porto: "regarding RDC 327 from the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), which deals with the import of this type of merchandise, there are no restrictions, as it says 'products based on cannabis', that is, being below 0.3% THC, as provided for in the regulation, is allowed".

What are the differences between Delta 8, 9, 10, and 11 THC?

Essentially, the difference between them is how they interact with the body. In other words, each individual may react differently, mainly due to their unique chemical structure. It is unlikely that these differences will result in harm, but it is necessary to wait for more data before drawing firm conclusions about the comparative benefits of the various natural forms of THC.

Medicinal use of Delta 11 THC

This is another area where very little is known. No study has shown the properties of Delta 11 THC, beyond its intoxicating nature. What is known is that, as a cannabinoid, Delta 11 works with cannabinoid receptors found throughout the body that regulate processes such as mood, pain, inflammation, sleep, and cognition, among many others.

It is still unknown which processes favor Delta 11 when it comes to offering regulatory options, but if this cannabinoid is similar to Delta 9, it can be said that those seeking a milder mood, uplifting effects, relief from physical discomfort, nausea, and perhaps an increase in appetite, may benefit.

What is certain is that, being a new compound, studies and research still need to be conducted to ensure that the potential benefits and limitations are indeed exposed to consumers. In the meantime, the recommendation is that caution is needed in the use of Delta 11 THC.
