Instituto Santa Planta seeks to promote access to the therapeutic use of cannabis in Brazil

The effort of Instituto Santa Planta is to redefine the view on cannabis in Brazil. In an effort to expand and make the therapeutic use of the plant accessible, the institute is developing an educational and awareness work on cannabinoid therapy. According to integrative physiotherapist Andrea Franco, president of the institute, the organization is determined not only to challenge stigmas but also to contribute to the decriminalization of the plant.

"We at Instituto Santa Planta (ISP) seek to offer multidisciplinary and integrative care aiming to provide accessible health capable of making a difference for all those in need of cannabidiol-based medications. Our goal is to ensure access to therapies and necessary care for patient follow-up, as well as for their families and other involved parties," says Franco.

For Instituto Santa Planta, self-cultivation is a fundamental right of access to health. "In our view, cannabis is a very ancient remedy, with records of use dating back many years before Christ. Over several generations, our ancestors already used it, as well as other herbs, for spiritual and physical healing effects, taking advantage of its numerous therapeutic benefits," she explains.

According to her, awareness is the way. "Our role in self-cultivation is to raise awareness, educate, and empower our associates, ensuring that access to medication is done in an appropriate and responsible manner."

This holistic and integrative approach to health care is fundamental for Instituto Santa Planta. "We believe in the concept of Integrative and Holistic Health, based on an individualized approach to each human being, recognizing their uniqueness," she emphasizes.

With confirmed participation in the Medical Cannabis Fair 2024, Instituto Santa Planta is ready to highlight its transformative work. "We are excited about our participation.
