Isabel Veloso is one of the most inspiring personalities that has emerged on the Internet in recent years. Living with terminal cancer at 18, she is aware of the consequences of the disease.

"The disease is stable, but it is treacherous. When it starts to spread, it won't stop. That scares me," says Isabel Veloso.

In 2021, the young woman from Paraná was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma and had to undergo a bone marrow transplant when she was 15. The result was a success. The diagnosis indicated a cure. However, at the beginning of 2024, the disease returned. The new diagnosis dashed the expectations of family and friends; she was facing a terminal cancer scenario. After analyzing the test results, the doctor predicted a life expectancy until July of this year. So far, Isabel lives days of anguish and determination to make the most of every moment of the time she has left, according to medicine.

Current Days

Now, six months later, the conditions of the 18-year-old are stable. The cancerous tumors, which had spread to her chest and neck, measuring 17 and four centimeters, respectively, now measure six millimeters.

"The only explanation for this improvement is the use of cannabis combined with the remnants of immunotherapy," reports Isabel, a cannabis patient since February who also emphasizes the importance of therapy, her husband, and family members who actively participate in her life.

In addition to reducing tumor growth, the medication helps in combating pain. Daily, the young woman uses 20 drops of CBD and THC, concentrated in a six-thousand-milligram oil. "During crisis moments, this dosage increases to 30 drops," says Isabel.

Ally in anxiety control

Suffering from generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), at the beginning of the treatment, she was surprised by the positive impact of the oil. "I feel that cannabis has helped my emotional life much more than any other medication. Today, it is the only medication I use for anxiety," says Isabel.

Characterized by causing nervousness and excessive worry, GAD hindered the young woman's communication with her three million followers on social media. Previously, all negative comments bothered her. But after using cannabis, Isabel admits that she started to expose herself more, showing life naturally, always dealing with people in the best possible way.

In addition to anxiety, Isabel suffered from symptoms of depression. "I never mention this on Instagram, but since I was 11 years old, I have struggled with depressive symptoms. I even tried to commit suicide a few times. Today, I can better control these emotions," exposes the young woman.

With a smile on her face, she jokes that to overcome all adversities, a lot of therapy is necessary. "I learned that emotions dominate our lives. But in reality, we need to control them. I understand all my feelings, I understand why situations are happening within me. I always try to be rational to solve everything," she explains.

"Humans are much more emotional than rational. There are times when I am not feeling well and the tumor swells, then decreases. My disease reacts, so I need to have very good self-control," she adds.

"A huge desire to live"

Isabel makes the most of all experiences in this unusual reality of hers. "Today, I have much more energy, a huge desire to live life. Cannabidiol stimulates me to do new things".

Study reveals potential benefits of cannabis for cancer patients

A recent study, published in the renowned scientific journal Cancer Research (click here to read the study), reveals promising insights about the relationship between cannabis and cancer treatment. The team of scientists examined data from various sources, including clinical studies and patient reports, to investigate how the active compounds of cannabis, especially THC and CBD, interact with cancer cells and symptoms associated with oncological treatments.

Surprisingly, the findings indicate that cannabis can offer significant benefits for cancer patients. One of the most striking conclusions of the study is the ability of cannabis to alleviate debilitating side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, such as nausea, vomiting, pain, and loss of appetite.

Furthermore, the researchers observed promising evidence that certain plant compounds can inhibit the growth and spread of cancer cells in some types of cancer, opening a new therapeutic pathway to combat the disease. This study highlights the potential of cannabis as a valuable complement in oncological treatment.
