Marijuana Ice Cream to Cool Down Heat Wave Extending Across Brazil Until Friday
The formula is based on terpenes responsible for aroma and flavor; they are therapeutic and do not have any psychotropic effect

Ice cream is a type of food that even before tasting it, one can imagine what kind of sensation it would be able to provide, especially on these days of intense heat. Now, imagine marijuana ice cream? Yes, that's right! Any fertile thought could suggest a hallucinogenic experience. But, believe it or not, marijuana ice cream doesn't give any "high," meaning the formula does not cause the psychotropic effect capable of acting on the brain and changing the way of thinking, feeling, and acting. It is just a recipe that explores the numerous possibilities of the plant Cannabis sativa, better known for medicinal use, but in countries like Thailand, it is already more explored in haute cuisine.

The Matcha ice cream with Sour Diesel terpene and chopped pistachios on top of the mass is a refreshing alternative for those who want to relieve the heat wave that is taking over the country, with cities like São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Cuiabá, Palmas, and Belo Horizonte possibly breaking temperature records, with forecasts between 38º and 43º, according to meteorological data. The heat wave is expected to last until Friday. Speaking of heat, it is not surprising to know that the terpene ice cream is offered by a convenience store in Ipanema, Rio.
According to Marco Arioli, partner and owner of the establishment, several tests were conducted during the creation process, until six months later the team managed to reach the formula.
"We do an important curation to decide which products we will put in the store. By knowing the cannabis market and following how it is developing in a very expressive way in the United States. [...] A friend of ours mentioned the therapeutic properties of terpenes, and we decided to go after it," he says.
Arioli also revealed to be an enthusiast of the cannabis market because of his son who uses cannabidiol. "We noticed a very significant improvement in focus and attention."
Marijuana Ice Cream Ingredients
The ingredients are Matcha, a green tea of Chinese origin, responsible for the greenish color and a touch in the flavor, and Sour Diesel, a cannabis terpene that guarantees the taste and aroma. Adriana Russowsky, a pharmacist and columnist for Portal Sechat, participated in the project.

"Terpenes are molecules that are part of the composition of plants and essential oils, with therapeutic properties and a distinctive fragrance. Also present in cannabis plants, they differentiate their species and properties. They act in a distinct way, being able to provide energy, relaxation, or analgesia, for example. Many brands currently, to enter the cannabis market, use synthetic terpenes (or plants with these compounds like cannabis strains) to achieve a response close to the equivalent and to achieve this marketing claim," she explains.
