The SFT is one of the most traditional MMA events in Brazil, having taken place for over three years and serving as a stage for new talents in this sport. The “brand” is American and was brought to Brazil by the owner's son, David Hudson. Since arriving here, they have partnered with Band TV, and the program is aired every Saturday at 11:45 PM on open television. Many “amateur” or semi-professional athletes gain space and visibility through this program, moving on to other levels within the sport.

“This is very important to us, as we love to support sports and provide growth opportunities for athletes,” highlights Ana Carolina Redwood – co-founder of USA Hemp.

The American company has been a pioneer in this journey of expanding cannabinoids for athletes, creating special products and sponsoring athletes committed to cannabis studies in their high-performance training.

“We sponsored the SFT Outubro Rosa, bringing cannabis medicine closer to female athletes, as well as supporting the women's health cause, which is super important to us too. From there, USA Hemp became the first CBD-based medication company to be on open television,” says Redwood, who adds:

“Last Sunday, we were also in Rio de Janeiro, sponsoring the DCPRO, a kind of 'tryout' for young people who wish to fight in the SFT. The event took place at Arena 3 Carioca and was the first to use an Olympic arena for MMA fights. Notable figures like Rogério Minotouro and Pedro Rizzo, important veterans of MMA and martial arts, were also there supporting.”

Other athletes like Lívinha Souza, an MMA fighter in the UFC, also use USA Hemp products and advocate for the medicine on their social media.

“We hold on to the right to have cannabis-based medicine and break down prejudice!”

Fernando Paternostro, a triathlon athlete, founder of Atleta Cannabis and Sechat columnist, incorporates various cannabis products into his training routine that enhance his performance. In addition to directly influencing the quality of his sleep and acting as an anxiolytic in stressful situations, CBD also acts as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory in intestinal tissue.

In addition to these, the company sponsors promising athletes such as young skateboarders Mateus Hiroshi and Miguel Oliveira, rowing athlete Tomás Levy, and Jiu-Jitsu fighter João Faixa Branca.

They continue to encourage national sports and support important events in the national scene, such as the latest edition of the Jiu-Jitsu reality show BJJ Five Star and the II Brazilian Paradesportivo Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

Very soon, USAHemp Brazil will also launch a line of cannabis-based products exclusively dedicated to athletes of all modalities.

“Our intention is to show the world, in practice, that treatment with cannabis should not be the last hope but the first option. In Brazil, also through sports, we find a way to demonstrate the importance and benefits of cannabinoid medicine in treating serious illnesses and routine prevention of them.” concludes Corina Silva, CEO of USA Hemp Brazil.
