Cannabis activists, the creators of the podcasts THShow and Santa Cannabis decided to join forces to launch a new Brazilian radio station with 100% content dedicated to the world of cannabis. Along with two other partners, journalist Marcus Bruno and communicators Igor Seco and Marcelo Nhock founded Hemp Radio online, which already starts with six sponsors from the sector. The digital station, which is on air 24/7, will feature an eclectic musical programming that ranges “from rock to samba and from reggae to pop.” In addition to the music, the podcasts, which were already available on other platforms, will also be broadcasted.
It’s not a radio that will only talk about cannabis, but a radio that will speak in the language of the audience that identifies with the cause.

The pioneering position in the cannabis segment belongs to Rádio Legalize, which went on air in 2008. The initiative was born from the efforts of some of the first organizers of the March of Marijuana, who sought new formats to spread their messages against the war on drugs and the social injustices it caused. According to one of its creators, journalist, musician, and DJ Raoni MouChoque, the virtual space became a meeting point and mobilization for activists linked to the cause.
We covered events, conducted interviews, live broadcasts, and hosted guests from the cannabis scene in Brazil and abroad.

The radio continues to broadcast, and according to him, it will present new formats soon. Regarding Hemp Radio, he welcomes the emergence of a new digital station dedicated to cannabis. “More people are joining our fight. I have always been passionate about radio and I am happy to see that others have also chosen this format to communicate with the cannabis community,” he concludes.
