Paraguay Innovates: Animal Feed with Cannabis, the New Milestone in Animal Welfare

Paraguay takes a big step towards innovation and leadership in the cannabis industry with the recent authorization for the commercialization of balanced animal feed containing industrial cannabis. This measure, supported by the National Service of Quality and Animal Health (SENACSA), sets a regulatory milestone for products aimed at animal welfare in the country. The resolution issued by SENACSA establishes the necessary regulations for the production, registration, and commercialization of balanced feed that includes both the nutrients from the cannabis seed and cannabidiol (CBD). 

This type of feed, designed to improve animals' quality of life, opens up a range of possibilities for the national and international markets. Products with CBD, in particular, are widely recognized for their therapeutic benefits, including stress reduction, pain relief, and improvement in cases of inflammation and anxiety disorders in animals.
