The deadline for applications to the Public Tender of the Parliamentary Front for Medicinal Cannabis and Industrial Hemp ends on October 31st. The initiative, coordinated by deputies Caio França (PSB) and Eduardo Suplicy (PT), will allocate over R$ 1.2 million in parliamentary amendments to finance projects in the areas of health, research, innovation, education, and economic development in the State of São Paulo.

Universities, city halls, autarchies, and non-profit third sector entities can participate, as long as they operate within the territory of São Paulo and are duly regularized. Projects must provide information such as requested amount, number of beneficiaries, and a detailed description of the proposed actions, as stipulated in the tender published on the official website of the Parliamentary Front.

According to Caio França, the goal is to encourage as many applications as possible and strengthen the ecosystem of innovation and research on medicinal cannabis.

“There are still a few days left for entities such as universities and city halls to participate. The tender for amendments will be open until October 31st. The tender itself is self-explanatory, indicating the requested amount, the number of beneficiaries of the project, and a basic description. We aim to have the highest number of applications possible so that the deliberative council, myself and Eduardo Suplicy, will meet on December 4th to announce the winners of this important tender,” said the deputy.

The final results will be announced on December 4th, during a meeting of the Parliamentary Front at the São Paulo State Legislative Assembly (Alesp), and published on the website fpcannabis.com.br.

The expectation is that the selection will encourage new initiatives focused on the scientific and economic development of the cannabis sector, reinforcing the commitment of the São Paulo Parliament to evidence-based public policies and innovation.
