Regulation of dietary supplements: how can cannabis stand out?

The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), along with the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) and Sindusfarma, will hold a workshop on the regulation of dietary supplements, where Brazilian and U.S. rules applicable to this category of products will be presented and discussed, as well as good manufacturing practices, the process of defining pharmacopeial specifications, and determining the shelf life of dietary supplements. But then you may ask, where does cannabis fit into this?

Well, the answer is simple, following the increasing rise of by-products derived from the plant, especially in the food sector, where according to Surfside, a data analysis company specializing in cannabis, only the United States grew by 20% last year, reaching $1.1 billion in revenue in this market, reaffirming the importance of such action, which must be observed very carefully, as what will be discussed there will directly impact the cannabis world.
