The medicinal cannabis market is going through a period of intense technological transformation, driven by the need for professionalization. From biometric sensors to artificial intelligence systems, the sector is investing in innovation to increase transparency and efficiency.

In this scenario, new telemedicine tools emerge to solve one of the main challenges for patients and professionals. Speed in service has become a priority to build trust in medicinal cannabis.

The use of advanced technologies, often referred to as the 'green revolution,' is debated as the path to maturity in the segment. Initiatives like the Prescrify project, presented at the MCF 2025, stand out by proposing to solve the slowness in scheduling.

Conceived by Cassiano Gomes, founder of Abrace Esperança and Complysoft, the app aims to modernize access to healthcare. The tool focuses on reducing waiting time, a long-standing demand in the sector.

Gomes explains that the motivation came from direct observation of the difficulties faced in daily life. “These are pains that doctors already had. We always hear a lot of complaints, and there is also a need for patients to have quick, low-cost, and easy access to care,” he states.

The executive emphasizes the urgency of practical solutions for the public. “Either we create a solution for this, or we will continue to suffer and see people struggling to get an appointment with a doctor that sometimes took two months,” he adds.

The 'uberization' of access to medicinal cannabis

The proposal of the new tool is to simplify the connection between patient and specialist, inspired by instant service models. According to Gomes, the central goal is to eliminate the barrier of closed schedules in the medicinal cannabis market.

“The idea is practically this: we have the doctor available, the doctor there live, online, just like in Uber. The patient downloads the app, they will have the doctor there live, available,” details the executive.

Ease of use is one of the pillars of the platform, allowing for personalized filters. “They will look for the doctor by price, by location, by qualification. And they can simply, in two clicks, hire that consultation through their own cell phone. So they can be immediately attended,” he explains.

For the founder of Complysoft, technology should directly address the bureaucracy that delays diagnoses. The goal is to transform the current structure of appointments and prescription renewals.

“I want to change this structure that we have today, where the consultation needs to be scheduled, the person had to wait days to get, sometimes, a prescription for a work accident, for sick leave,” points out Gomes.

He identifies the delay as a critical obstacle for Brazilians. “So, I think that today this is the biggest bottleneck for Brazilians. And I want to get into this bottleneck, this gap,” he reinforces.

Technological expansion of medicinal cannabis

In addition to innovations in software and applications, the market observes a constant evolution throughout its production chain. The growth of public interest and the development of solutions are thermometers of this expansion of medicinal cannabis.

Gomes highlights that this evolution is visible at the main meetings and conferences in the field. “Every year we see the increase, the expansion of the cannabis market,” he points out about the current scenario.

The Brazilian Medicinal Cannabis Congress 2026, the main meeting point for about 1,000 congressmen, is already open for sales. Get your ticket here.
