In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the booths and attentive looks, veterinarian Carollina Mariga found something that transcends science: connection. A PhD student at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), focusing on cannabis research, she came to the Medical Cannabis Fair in search of professional updates, and left with much more.
With a sparkle in her eyes and enthusiasm in her voice, Carollina made an emotional invitation to her colleagues, especially to those who still do not feel ready to prescribe medical cannabis:
“And I come to say, especially to veterinarians: it is not enough to know that endocannabinology exists, especially when it doesn't even appear in our curriculum. We need to go after it, seek knowledge, update ourselves. Here at the fair is a unique opportunity to understand how to prescribe, get to know the newest products on the market, and learn in practice. Come here!”.
Knowledge that embraces
Carollina's spontaneous speech reverberated through the fair's corridors as a collective call. It translated a common feeling among many healthcare professionals, especially those in veterinary medicine: the challenge of accessing qualified information about medical cannabis and overcoming the institutional erasure that still surrounds the topic.

For Carollina, the Medical Cannabis Fair was an awakening. She lectured at the VetCannabis module on a specific and necessary topic: Topical Use of Cannabis in Companion Animals: Benefits and Applications. More than just a showcase of products and solutions, she experienced a space of listening, exchange, and belonging there
A new way of practicing medicine
Conceived by the Sechat Portal, the Medical Cannabis Fair has become a reference in Brazil. The event brings together doctors, veterinarians, therapists, companies, researchers, and patients in an atmosphere of discovery.
It serves as a bridge: connecting science to practice, knowledge to feeling, the technical to the human. In each booth, lecture, or hallway conversation, a new way of practicing medicine emerges, more empathetic, more connected to care and to each individual's time.
For professionals like Carollina, the fair is not just an event: it is a meeting ground, where the future of healthcare is built with active listening, affection, and courage.
