Anvisa has informed that the requirement to include information in the National System for the Management of Controlled Products (SNGPC) will be organized again in the first half of 2025. All cannabis-based products dispensed in pharmacies and drugstores must be recorded in the SNGPC. An update of the system, which has undergone improvements, aims to enhance data entry and improve the management of controlled medications.
In October, Anvisa released a schedule for the registration update phase and found private pharmacies to participate in a testing phase. Industry professionals have until December 31 of this year to use the tool, conducting tests and clarifying doubts.
This testing phase is crucial to ensure that the system, when reimplemented, has the necessary robustness to support the high demand for information. Pharmacies can test the functionalities and provide feedback for specific adjustments. It is important to note that, during this period, the actions taken by professionals will not be used for inspections, as informed by the agency.
During and after the testing period, pharmacies must continue to record the movements of medications in internal systems, as required by Collegiate Board Resolution (RDC) 586/2022, to ensure traceability and proper stock control. The obligation to keep the necessary documentation, as per Ordinance SVS/MS 344/1998 and RDC 22/2014, remains unchanged.
