The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) will hold, this Wednesday (10), at 11 am, the swearing-in ceremony of its new directors. The event will take place at the Agency's auditorium in Brasília and will mark the official presentation of the new board to the public and sector authorities.
Among the chosen ones are three new members who will take on strategic positions at Anvisa, the body responsible for relevant standards for public health, including cannabis regulation in Brazil. The Agency is responsible, for example, for RDC 327, currently under review, and for RDC 660. In addition, it is monitoring the cannabis cultivation regulation process, scheduled to be discussed on September 29, 2025.
The new director-president will be Leandro Pinheiro Safatle, who replaces Antônio Barra Torres. To complete the board, Daniela Marreco Cerqueira was appointed in place of Meiruze Sousa Freitas, and Thiago Lopes Cardoso Campos, replacing Alex Machado Campos.
