The 5th edition of the Brazilian Medicinal Cannabis Congress (BMCC) is confirmed and already has a set date. The event will take place from May 21 to 23, 2026, at the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo.

The meeting integrates the productive chain of Latin America and maintains the structure of its Scientific Committee. The permanence of Dr. Wellington Briques aims to ensure the continuity of technical rigor and the analysis of innovations at the Brazilian Medicinal Cannabis Congress.

The central objective is to consolidate the debate on the medicinal and industrial use of the plant. To achieve this, the event will bring together doctors, researchers, industry representatives, and the public sector, anticipating trends and avoiding outdated topics.

According to Wellington Briques, a committee member since the 4th edition, innovation is the main guideline. "We had a scientific committee to put together this program in order to bring more innovation, talk a little more about science, about what lies ahead and not look back," he said.

Science and Internationalization at the Brazilian Medicinal Cannabis Congress

The event's structure for 2026 foresees the division into essential technical modules. Among them are MedCan (clinical), OdontoCannabis, VetCannabis, and QuimFarma, reinforcing the technical diversity of the Brazilian Medicinal Cannabis Congress.

The organization reports a robust history of international participation. Experts from 13 countries and over 20 health specialties have already attended, validating the global relevance of the meeting.

For the committee, exchanging experiences with foreign professionals is essential for the evolution of the national market. Briques highlighted that the presence of experts from the United States and Canada in previous editions brought crucial knowledge to the sector.

The feedback from healthcare professionals has validated this technical format. "We are receiving feedback from colleagues that the scientific program really brings this characteristic of innovation and a lot of learning," added the doctor.

Advanced Clinical Applications in the MedCan Module

Under the curatorship of Dr. Wellington Briques, the MedCan module returns in 2026 with an expanded program, exclusively aimed at healthcare professionals seeking technical rigor and scientific updating.

The central focus is to offer a practical evidence-based view, deepening the therapeutic application of cannabis in diverse clinical contexts.

The thematic agenda prioritizes the management of complex conditions, covering from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to multiple sclerosis and neuropsychiatric disorders.

The module will also provide real experiences on the treatment of oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and vital discussions on drug interactions, equipping the physician for challenging scenarios.

Aligned with the event's innovation proposal, MedCan will also explore technological frontiers, such as microdosing protocols, nanotechnology, and therapeutic personalization via artificial intelligence and big data.

What is BMCC?

The Brazilian Medicinal Cannabis Congress (BMCC) reaches its 5th edition established as the main scientific and professional meeting on medicinal cannabis and industrial hemp in Brazil, bringing together doctors, dentists, pharmacists, veterinarians, chemists, researchers, industry professionals, agribusiness representatives, and public and academic sector representatives for three days of technical content, high-level debates, and qualified networking.

With a program developed by a Scientific Committee formed by national and international reference experts, BMCC organizes its content into modules such as MedCan, OdontoCannabis, VetCannabis, QuimFarma, Business, and Agro & Tech, as well as special tracks and scientific work presentations. The event takes place parallel to the Cannabis Fair, the largest sector fair in Brazil, providing an integrated experience that connects science, market, innovation, and business opportunities in a single environment.
