Continuing the schedule of the business mission organized by Abiquifi, in partnership with ApexBrasil, the Brazilian delegation participated on Tuesday (11) in a technical visit to Tarkus, a Colombian company known for producing cannabis derivatives with pharmaceutical grade.
The activity marked the second day of the mission, which aims to deepen the technical-regulatory exchange between Brazil and Colombia, focusing on the Colombian model of cultivation, extraction, and pharmaceutical production of cannabis-based inputs.
During the visit, participants were able to observe all stages of the production process, from plant material extraction to final product packaging, witnessing firsthand the required standards to ensure quality, traceability, and regulatory compliance.

According to Carolina Sellani, Head of Strategic Affairs at Abiquifi and coordinator of the Cannabis Working Group, the experience was essential to understand the dynamics among the links of the production chain.
“It was very important to observe a pharmaceutical grade production process from extraction to final product packaging,” she emphasized.
“The visit allowed us to better understand how this connection works between the company that purchases the plant material and the cultivators, identifying the controls they need to ensure to be suppliers to the industry,” she added.
Sellani also highlighted the relevance of the visit for the technical maturity of the Brazilian sector.
“It is a very enriching experience that shows how the production and regulatory stages integrate — from cultivation for pharmaceutical purposes to production in validated and regulated facilities,” she stated.
Participating in the mission are representatives from Anvisa, Embrapa, MAPA, and the Federal Council of Chemistry (CFQ), as well as executives from companies such as Aché, Biolab, Endogen, Centro Flora, EaseLabs, Eurofarma, FarmaUSA, and Vettiva.
Also on Tuesday (11), the mission held business rounds with over 40 meetings between Brazilian and Colombian companies, strengthening commercial exchange and forming new strategic partnerships in the pharmaceutical sector.
In the coming days, the delegation will continue with institutional meetings and technical exchanges, promoting closer ties between authorities and companies from both countries, with the aim of strengthening regulatory dialogue and building solid references for the regulation of cannabis cultivation in Brazil.
