Cannabis Connection 2026 Will Feature Debates on Agribusiness and RDCs

Cannabis Connection 2026 will be held on November 5, starting at 2:00 PM, at Edifício JK 1600 in Itaim Bibi, São Paulo. In its fourth edition, the meeting will feature a schedule dedicated to the new cannabis landscape in Brazil, presenting data and hosting debates on agribusiness, cannabis products, and imports.
Organized and hosted by Sechat, the event brings together representatives across the medicinal and industrial cannabis supply chain, including researchers, regulators, business leaders, and market intelligence experts. The goal is to foster strategic discussions and connections among the various sectors involved in developing this industry.
The official schedule for Cannabis Connection 2026 will focus on the agribusiness market, RDC 1.015/2026—which updated the rules for cannabis products in Brazil—and RDC 660/2022, responsible for regulating exceptional importation by individuals.

Confirmed researchers and experts
Among the names already confirmed for the 2026 edition is Beatriz Marti Emygdio, a researcher at Embrapa and president of the Permanent Strategic Advisory Committee on Cannabis. The specialist works with genetic resources, plant breeding, production systems, and the coordination of research focused on the cannabis production chain.
Bruno Pegoraro, co-founder and president of Instituto Ficus, an organization dedicated to advancing policies related to natural products with therapeutic or economic value, such as cannabis, hemp, and psychedelics, will also participate.
The lineup will also feature Fernanda Rebelo Carnevalli, a pharmacist and biochemist specializing in market intelligence and a member of the Market Insights division at Close-Up International. Her participation will contribute to analyses of demand, prescriptions, distribution, and pharmaceutical market dynamics.
Additional names may be announced by organizers leading up to the event.
2025 experience reinforces vision for 2026
The 2026 schedule builds on the model adopted at Cannabis Connection 2025, which featured representatives from Anvisa, Embrapa, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), corporations, and research institutions.
Testimonials gathered during the previous edition reflect how participants viewed the event's ability to bridge public authorities, science, and the market.
For João Paulo Silvério Perfeito, manager of Anvisa's Specific and Phytotherapeutic Medicines Management department, the event represented a “very relevant space for discussing aspects related to Cannabis regulation.”
International market watches Brazil
Juan Sader, CEO and managing director of the Uruguayan company Cannabeezy, highlighted the strategic importance of the meeting for international companies interested in the Brazilian market.
“Cannabis Connection is without a doubt the most important event for the sector in Latin America,” he stated.
“We are a company from Uruguay, we are betting heavily on the market here in Brazil, and really being present at this type of event is very important for us, because we get an openness of information that you can only achieve by being here in person,” Sader added.
Regulation, research, and education on the agenda
Carolina Sellani highlighted the opportunity to follow discussions led directly by professionals involved in drafting the industry's regulations.
“We had the opportunity to hear from those crafting the regulations and discuss research, the revision of the cannabis product standards, cultivation...,” she stated.
“Education is a huge gap in this market (...) So education is the foundation, the core of this market's evolution,” added Fabio Furtado, founder and CEO of Green Care.
This assessment aligns with the 2026 agenda, which aims to translate regulatory changes into discussions on their practical effects for companies, professionals, researchers, and patients.
“Building bridges and tearing down walls”
For neurosurgeon Pedro Pierro, scientific director of Sechat, bringing different stakeholders together is one of the primary purposes of Cannabis Connection.
“The purpose of this event is to build bridges and tear down walls,” he stated.
Daniel Jordão, general director and organizer of Cannabis Connection, also emphasized the diversity of institutions present at the previous edition.
“It is the only place we have that fosters a conversation among all sectors encompassing access to medical cannabis. We had the presence of Anvisa, Embrapa, MAPA, and Close-Up, providing market data and insights...,” he said.
Embrapa highlights decisive moment for the sector
Beatriz Emygdio, returning as a confirmed speaker in 2026, assessed during the previous edition that the country was going through a decisive phase for developing the production chain.
“We are currently experiencing a decisive moment for these topics to advance in an important, relevant, and technical manner (...) so that we can have truly sustainable supply chains in Brazil,” the Embrapa researcher stated.
In 2026, this discussion takes on a new dimension in light of regulatory changes approved throughout the year and the need to translate rules into research, production, quality control, access, and economic development.
