In the pace of growth of medicinal cannabis in Brazil, there is an element that remains decisive and that does not fit into spreadsheets: the encounter between people. It was this perception that crossed the aisles of the last edition of the main scientific and professional fair in Latin America on cannabis. A meeting point for prescribing professionals, scientists, health agents, entrepreneurs, investors, and associations that turned conversations into possible paths to expand access to health.

Among the reports that marked the event, the speech of Vinicius Del Nero, administrative director of ABRACAMED, synthesizes the impact of the in-person experience. With a direct role in welcoming patients and families, he highlighted the fair as a space that goes beyond the business environment and consolidates itself as a support point for the sector.

The power of merging knowledge

For Del Nero, bringing together different links in the production chain is strategic not only for economic development but also for regulatory and social advancement of cannabis in the country.

“The more we spread the production here in Brazil in this regulated way, I think it's better for everyone. We can draw attention to our politics and see how important it is, how much this medicine is needed in families. So I think there is nothing more important than having fairs talking about the subject, bringing new businesses and it's not just planting, you generate jobs in so many ways, with laboratories, with machinery, so many good things that we can do using to make this wonderful medicine.”, he stated.

According to him, the sector moves a broad chain, ranging from cultivation to cutting-edge technology, reflecting directly on job creation and innovation.

Information exchange as the engine of the sector

In a scenario of significant advances with the new rules established by Anvisa for planting, research, and regulatory sandbox for associations, sharing experiences becomes essential. It is in this context that the Cannabis Fair consolidates itself as a strategic meeting point.

“Information exchange is fundamental in any sector. And in ours, as it is still very new in Brazil, we have to talk... see how the progress is in each state. This is a fundamental exchange,” highlighted the director of ABRACAMED.

New location, same essence

For 2026, the Cannabis Fair arrives with an important novelty: the event will be held in a new space, expanding the structure to accommodate an even larger audience and strengthen connections on different fronts, from science to the third sector.

More than just a fair, the meeting establishes itself as a space for listening, articulation, and collective construction, maintaining support as one of its main pillars.

The expectation is that the next edition will once again bring together the main names in the sector, promoting dialogues that directly impact the lives of thousands of patients throughout the country.
