São Joaquim de Bicas City Hall opens bidding for cannabis-based medication purchase

The City Hall of São Joaquim de Bicas, in Minas Gerais, has opened a bidding process to purchase cannabis-based medication for distribution in the public health network. The notice was published this Wednesday (20) in the Official Gazette of the Union, in Electronic Auction No. 69/2025, regarding Bidding Process No. 106/2025.
The public session for price competition is scheduled for September 1, 2025, at 9:30 AM, on the portal www.novobbmnet.com.br and also on the official website of the city hall.
History of cannabis acquisition in the municipality
This is not the first time the municipal administration has resorted to purchasing the derivative. In 2023, the city hall opened an emergency process for the acquisition of Greencare cannabis sativa extract 79.14 mg/ml, intended for the treatment of a patient with chronic pain in the lower limbs, diagnosed with post-laminectomy syndrome with neuropathic pain. The procedure initiated in 2023, however, remains open to this day.
