Milena Rocha, from Grupo DPSP, will discuss the role of pharmaceutical retail in access to medical cannabis during Cannabis Connection 2026.

With over 20 years of experience in commercial strategy, business development, and innovation in the healthcare sector, the executive plans to share the group's journey and discuss how pharmacy chains have positioned themselves to serve patients who use cannabis-based products.

“On November 5, we have a gathering to talk about Medical Cannabis, a topic that has been gaining relevance in healthcare conversations. But, looking from the perspective of pharmaceutical retail, there is still one topic that I consider very important. How do we turn this access into availability for our patients?”, Milena stated in an invitation to the event.

Her participation brings a key challenge for the market into focus: bridging the gap between product supply and patients' needs, and understanding how retail can operate across a chain that involves prescribing, health regulation, distribution, and dispensing.

Regulation and market intelligence in the program

Organized by Sechat, Cannabis Connection reaches its fourth edition with an agenda focused on regulatory challenges, business opportunities, and the development of the medical cannabis and industrial hemp chain.

One of the highlights is the debate on RDC 1.015/2026, which is part of Anvisa's new regulatory framework for cannabis products. The program includes a market data presentation at 4:35 PM and a panel discussion at 4:55 PM, featuring representatives from the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa), the Brazilian Association of the Fine Chemicals, Biotechnology and Their Specialties Industry (ABIQUIFI), Close-Up International, and Panorama Farmacêutico.

Among the professionals included in the program are Ana Cecília Carvalho, specialist in the regulation of medicines and phytotherapics at Anvisa; Carolina Sellani, member of the cannabis active pharmaceutical ingredients working group at ABIQUIFI; Bianca Aparecida Lamim, senior Market Insights analyst at Close-Up International; and Leandro Luize, from Panorama Farmacêutico.

The combination of regulatory perspectives and market data enables a comprehensive discussion on the impacts of health regulation changes on the industry and other links across the pharmaceutical chain.

Imports and domestic production

RDC 660/2022, which governs the exceptional import of cannabis-derived products for personal use, is also on the agenda. The event features a data presentation and debate on this access route, with the participation of Allan Paiotti, CEO of Cannect.

The event will also address the development of domestic production. Among the featured speakers is Beatriz Marti Emygdio, researcher at Embrapa and chair of the institution's Permanent Strategic Advisory Committee on Cannabis.

The program starts at 2:00 PM, featuring sessions on the market and the agricultural landscape, and includes breaks for networking. The closing is scheduled for 10:00 PM.
